New Embassy Compound, Ankara, Turkey

Mason & Hanger provided engineering design services for this new 278,064 SF embassy compound as a sub consultant to Ennead Architects of New York. The project was designed as part of the DOS Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) Excellence in Diplomatic Facilities Initiative. Previous to this commission, we provided project development services with Davis, Brody Bond Architects and Planners for preliminary project planning. Facilities include a new office building, utility building, support annex, recreational facility, marine security guard quarters, compound access control (main, consular, service), mail screening facility, and enclosed parking.

The design provides for a safe, secure and functional facility representing the U.S. government to the host nation and supporting our staff in the achievement of U.S. foreign policy objectives. M&H provided the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, technical security systems, fire protection and sustainability design services. Our engineering incorporates the most advanced methods, systems and technologies to the facility and local conditions seeking to reduce negative impacts on the environment.
