New Embassy Compound, Karachi, Pakistan
The new embassy compound in Karachi presented unique challenges because utility electrical power was not available at the site and a medium voltage prime generation plant had to be constructed for the facility. The 245,400 square foot compound consists of a new chancery building, Marine guard headquarters, warehouse / shop, utility buildings, recreational facilities, and compound security on a four hectare site. The B.L. Harbert International / Page Southerland Page / H&A design-build team is pursuing LEED silver certification for the project.
