New Embassy Compound, Antananarivo, Madagascar

The new embassy compound in Antananarivo, Madagascar, received LEED Silver certification from the Green Building Certification Institute. The facility is on a four hectare site and features a combined consular/service compound access control facility, a compound recreational facility and new office building. The H&A engineering team performed a power quality study on the existing ambassador’s residence building prior to beginning site design. The design for the facility’s standby power generation and distribution system includes equipment to assure the quality and reliability of the facility electrical power. The design-build team included B.L. Harbert International and PageSoutherlandPage.
