New Embassy Compound, Brazzaville, West Congo
Awarded LEED Gold certification by the Green Building Certification Institute, the new embassy compound in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, stands on a 4.25-hectare site. The various facility types that make up the 96,875 square foot compound include access control, power generation, fuel storage and distribution, and a future Marine security guard quarters.
H&A provided engineering design services with architectural partner, PageSoutherlandPage. The design team collaborated to deliver a final product that incorporated innovative daylighting techniques resulting in natural light for at least 75 percent of the building space and decreasing the demand for artificial lighting. The application of energy-efficient systems exceeds the minimum energy performance standards issued by the government.
