Courtyard by Marriott – Oceanfront North

H&A designed this Courtyard by Marriott in Virginia Beach as part of the resort strip modernization iniative.

The firm organized the 125,000 square foot hotel around a north-to-south oriented corridor, as all 160 guestrooms face the ocean. The first floor is devoted completely to public functions, providing a restaurant and lounge, an indoor pool, as well as 2,100 square feet of meeting space. The firm modified the familiar courtyard entrance canopy with illuminated frosted glass that acts as a lantern. Capping the building are three towers, interfaced with opaque glass reminiscent of nautical beacons.

The property features a tropical outdoor pool complete with rock formations, grottoes, and waterfalls. A nearby tiki bar creates an inviting, tranquil atmosphere for its guests.
